Dear Family,

We are teaching someone who has been investigating the church for years, and this last week we talked about prophets and how there is a pattern of prophets that has existed since the beginning of mankind. The Lord loves His children now just as much as He did in times of old - that is why we have a prophet on the earth today! And just like B. is finding out for herself, you can find out for yourself if the Book of Mormon was written by prophets of God - men called of God, with that same authority from God as the Prophets of old.

Why does this matter? Because if those men were prophets, then we know that the man who translated the Book of Mormon - Joseph Smith - was also a prophet of God, and that the prophet on the earth today has that same power as the prophets from the Bible. We will know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and contains the teachings of Jesus Christ - just like the Bible - that we need to know and follow in our lives. It is real! I love it!

I love the Book of Mormon! It teaches and testifies of Christ - the prophets remind us this in 2 Nephi 25:26. I am watching this book change my life and the lives of others. It truly is the word of God!

I love you - make this week a great one! :)

Love,
Sister Brinton

Dear Family,

I do not believe in coincidences, because doing so denies God's hand in our lives. I strongly believe that the Lord has His hand even in the tiny details. He respects our agency, but He definitely helps us go in the direction we need to go and have the experiences we need to have - as long as we follow His commandments and do what is right.

We met C. the other day, from a series of what might be seen as "coincidences". We had the thought to visit a certain family in the ward - when visiting them, we received a referral from one of the family members. We went to tract the area around the referral before trying to contact the referral herself. The first door that we knocked, we met C. - and we had a lesson right then and there. He invited us back, and is now reading out of the Book of Mormon.

Maybe I've already shared this with you, but it's one of my favorite scriptures: "Know ye not that ye are in the hands of God? Know ye not that he hath all power[?]" (Mormon 5:23). He loves us, He is mindful of every one of us - I know it is true.

Hope you have a great week! I love you!

Love,
Sister Brinton
