Dear Family,
I am getting transferred in a couple of days to a
little town called Prairie Du Chien! It's on the southwestern (had to
have some sort of "southwestern" part of my mission) :) border of the
state; my last companion served there and loved
it. I am very excited to get to serve in another part of Wisconsin, but
l will miss the people here - terribly. I can't even explain how
grateful I am to have been able to spend 6 months in Racine! I
love these people so much, and feel so blessed to have been
able to take part in the work here and see all of the miracles the
Lord's been working in their lives. A, an amazing woman we started
teaching this past week, told us that she feels like something's missing
- that she wants to know her purpose in life, and
how she can feel clean again. We shared with her Alma 36, and talked
with her about the reality of the Atonement. That is one of the most
beautiful chapters in the Book of Mormon, and proves that there is hope
for anyone - no matter who we've been in the past
or what we've done. She is starting to feel this hope, and is working
towards being baptized! I love the Lord's work - how sweet it is!!
There is a new Christmas website that the Church has published, mormon.org/ christmas -
I hope you will take a look at it, and share it with others! It's
designed to help us remember the true meaning
of Christmas - our Savior, Jesus Christ - and has some beautiful
(free) music, video, etc. relating to celebrating his birth and life!
Love you! Make this week a great one!
Love,
Sister Brinton
P.S. I am wearing short sleeves today, it is that warm here - not a joke! (either that or I'm just acclamated to the climate) :)
