Dear Family,
A woman we work with, B, has
been coming back into the church. B hadn't been active in her
membership since she was baptized as a girl, but now things are
beginning to change! She has made major growth since we first started
meeting with her, but she has a desire to be worthy of going to the
temple so that she may someday be sealed to her daughter - and with the
ward, we're working to help her get there.
In an effort to help her work towards her goals and to
become consistent in habits she's working to form, we gave her a chart 3
weeks ago that encourages daily prayers, scripture reading, and weekly
church attendance. She is now praying morning and night, reading out of
the Book of Mormon daily, and making an effort to come to church every
week. She shared with us how she knows that doing these things
consistently has helped her feel the Spirit more in her life and feel
closer to the Lord - and it shows in the person she is starting to
become. B told us that she helped serve a coworker she had never felt
positively towards before, that her desire to break the Word of
Wisdom has been going away, that she wants to share the Gospel with her
fiancee more, and that her daily communication with Heavenly Father has
helped her love others in a way that she has never been able to in the
past.
Some may say these are small things, but I know they
are miracles! They are direct blessings from obedience to what our
Heavenly Father asks all of us to do. I know that the Book of Mormon was
written by prophets of God, men who were called to write and do what
they did. Their words testify of Jesus Christ and help us understand our
relationship with Him better - to not only know how to become more like
Him, but to have the desire to do so. B is a living witness of this!
I have been so blessed to get to see such incredible
changes of heart. We really can become new people, with the help of our
Savior. He is the one who makes it all possible!
I love you! Thank you so much for all the love and support you give!
Love,
Sister Brinton
